Guelph runners could sweep national cross-country championships

GUELPH — The odds of an exclusively local podium Saturday at the national cross-country championships at the University of Guelph’s Arboretum have never been better.
Defending senior men’s champion Simon Bairu won’t race while he recovers from running the New York City Marathon.
“Without Simon in the race it’s wide open,” Speed River Track and Field Club member Reid Coolsaet said.
